Ellen Kanner has over ten years of experience spinning creative, intuitive Web sites and marketing materials from concept to completion.   She is fully knowledgeable in the Web site design and development process, taking a project from design, site architecture and programming to registering the URL and establishing it on the Web through search engines.

Technologies involved include a variety of software applications to create web graphics, from design in Photoshop to animation in Flash, as well as the use of hand and WYSIWYG coding of HTML, DHTML, CSS, SSI, and Javascript, depending on what's needed.  A wiz at learning new technologies to get the job done, Ellen is also familiar with setting up shopping carts and e-commerce Web sites as well as using Flash and PhP.  She has had the valuable experience of working in both large and small markets and currently lives in Lebanon, NH.

Before working in the Web, Ellen worked as a Television Producer/Director for six years, creating commercials, PSAs and broadcast news segments for both network and cable television production companies.   She has over twelve years of experience managing projects in the advertising, technical, journalism and design arenas. Client and professional experience includes a variety of fields, particularly tourism, outdoor recreation, non-profit fundraising, software engineering, pharmaceutical benefits management with her current focus being in academia.  Holding a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maine in Journalism with an Advertising concentration, she has further developed her knowledge base through coursework in graphic design, computer programming and project management. She has also taught a variety of courses at the university level on Web site development, design and marketing, and how use of graphic design software applications.

Ellen is currently a Web Producer/Designer at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, and is working on a variety of freelance projects. The most recent addition to her adventures includes New England Cycling (Published Feb. 2005) by Foghorn Outdoors/Avalon Travel Publishers.

Volunteer involvement includes The Upper Valley Arts Alliance (Steering committee & webmaster, 2005-06), the City of Lebanon Bicyclist and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (Member, Chair 2007), and Upper Valley Web Authors. On campus she coordinates and facilitates a variety of communities of practice - The Dartmouth Web Developers, The Web Producers Group and the Content Developers Users Group.

Ellen is also a jewelry designer with designs in juried galleries in her home state of New Hampshire and throughout the United States. She enjoys travel, gardening, kayaking, hiking and cycling.
