About the artist:
I started hammering away and bending wires to create my jewelry in 1998
while living in Portland, Maine. My familial traits include a father
who was a cabinetmaker and metalsmith, so hammering metal is in my genes.
My creations started with stones and pearls, inspired by the natural
colors found in the Maine woods and in the seaglass found on its many
beaches. My move to California brought new inspiration and the designs
with larger glass beads became a new series.
Each item is hand-crafted by me, Ellen Kanner, and is unique in design. All swirls are hammered by hand in sterling silver accompanied by semi-precious natural stones, freshwater pearls or funky glass beads. Stones used include amethyst, iolite, jasper, citrine, fluorite, garnet, amber, and black onyx, among others. Freshwater pearls range in color from gray to pink to white. The new series of beach stone pendants are created with sterling silver and pebbles found on shores from Maine to Oregon.
I am currently living in New Hampshire. My designs are sold in a variety of stores throughout the United States, from Homer, AK to Hancock, NH. Past and current galleries carrying my jewelry include:

Center, Peterborough, New Hampshire
The Wood
Gallery, Newport, Oregon
